A Little Birdey Told Me...

A little birdey told me all sorts of interesting snippets. If you have news that you'd like to see in the next issue in March, please just e-mail me: sarah@neoireland.com

The Butterfly Ball : If there is one ball I've always wanted to go to, it's the Butterfly Ball. DEBRA Ireland have been running it now for the past four years to help raise funds to support people with EB. DEBRA is a small charity with a huge heart. Margaret and her team work tirelessly and passionately on behalf of the families with children with EB. They manage to fund medical research into this debilitating and hugely painful condition, as well as providing a liaison nurse service, respite holidays and information and advise.

Join the NEO Ireland Table : The Butterfly Ball is one of the major highlights of the Irish social calendar, and helps DEBRA Ireland to raise those much needed funds. This year, the ball takes place in the Four Seasons Hotel, and it promises to be an astonishing evening of entertainment, good food and wine and excellent company. We would love to put together a table at the Ball on the 4th of March. Like many of you, we are a small company, with limited resources and we can't afford to buy a whole 10 places. However, if we join together under the NEO banner, we can have a great night out, help DEBRA, and also give ourselves a bit of profile through special arrangement with DEBRA Ireland.

Special Corporate Arrangement: If you would like to join a NEO Ireland table AND have your logo displayed on the corporate supports section of the large screen graphic displays at the ball, then please contact Lisa on 01 716 3630 or email lisa: lisa@neoireland.com. Tickets cost €175 each. If you want to take your own corporate table, then please contact Clyde Carroll or go to the Butterfly Ball Invite Site at www.eventznet.ie/butterflyball06.

Panormic Projection from Magpie AV

Magpie AV are launching their new panoramic wide screen projection at live demonstration on the 28th of February at 08.30. They would be delighted if you would attend, and promise coffee and danish and even pancakes. (yes, that is pancake Tuesday already) Please contact Barry Redmond on 473 8400 or email: info@magpieav.ie if you would like to go along. I can't wait to see it in action, it really sounds like a giant step forward for us and will raise the bar in terms of presentations for us all. Take a look at the Magpie AV website for more information: www.magpieav.ie

New Tasting Lab at the Guinness Storehouse

The Guinness Storehouse is and exciting and unusual destination providing infinitely flexible space that offers their guests an unparalleled venue that can adapt to suit any function catering for up to 1300 people.

The Storehouse is also home to one of the most contemporary conference environments. Stylishly simple in design, the Learning Centre can accommodate any corporate needs. These unique rooms and facilities are ideal for seminars, team building sessions, meetings and events of almost any size and type.

The Storehouse Visitor Experience has undergone a €2.5 million upgrade with the addition of a new 'Brew and Taste' exhibition. The exhibition allows visitors to learn about the various stages of the brewing process and one lucky visitor even gets to initiate their own brew through a live link up from within the brewery. In addition to this, they have introduced a 'Tasting Laboratory' where visitors get to sample three different brews. Under the guidance of the Guinness Storehouse experts any visitor will be able to appreciate Guinness as if they were one of the professional tasters at St James's Gate.

As an added bonus anyone visiting the Storehouse gets to enjoy a complimentary pint of Guinness in the spectacular Gravity bar, which can cater for private parties of up to 250 guests.

All Event Productions News

Martin Cullinane from All Event Productions will probably be horrified to hear me describe him as "affable" - but there just isn't another word for that sort of cheeky, charming, thoroughly grounded and all-round good guy! AEP have recently been engaged to film and produce the Nivea for Men 2006 AUL League Final. This is also Martin's 5th year directing and producting the PPI Radio Awards.
And just in case you ever wanted to know what 2FM's Bob Conway looked like - look no further (than above). Not only does Martin organise lighting , sound, visuals, live-eye, staging, set design, A/V pre and post production, event delivery concept, production and direction - he also moonlights as a DJ Bob Conway on East Coast FM and Today FM. Martin's website can be found at: www.alleventproductions.com

Valentines Offers from 4-Gifts Direct

Hard to believe that 4GiftsDirect is almost 20 years old. I remember really clearly hearing about Inter Teddy for the first time - I'm showing my age! 4GiftsDirect is the internet brand of the gift mail order company founded by Lulu O'Sullivan in 1988. They've been shipping out teddies, hampers, champagne, chocolate and gadgets over the internet for the past 10 years. A pioneer of e-commerce, O'Sullivan is married to one of Ireland's other pioneers: Brody Sweeney. How they managed to start and build two such successful companies at the same time, AND produce 4 children I simply do not know.

This Valentines day 4GiftsDirect have some super ideas presents for staff and clients. If anyone wants to send us anything, we'll go for the Champagne and Truffles.

For last minute Valentines treats (as Lisa would say - she also refers to hugs as cuddles) - go to the 4GiftsDirect website at: www.4giftsdirect.com and click away!
